Situated close beside the St. Lawrence River, Biophare is a museum whose mission is to make better known the human and environmental aspects of the Lake Saint-Pierre Biosphere Reserve. The Biosphere is as remarkable for its rich historic heritage as it is for the natural environments it encompasses. Through the permanent exhibition “The Lake Saint-Pierre Observatory,” Biophare seeks to promote this exceptional area and to educate and sensitize the population to its beauty, diversity and fragility.
Biophare also offers a rich program of temporary exhibitions as well as a variety of cultural and educational activities all year long. Moreover, visitors can access and visit, back home, three virtual exhibitions created by the museum :

The Randonnée Nature
Welcome aboard the Randonnée nature for a three-hour cruise at the heart of the lake St-Pierre archipelago. You will sail through a maze of channels at the discovery of the unknown exceptional fauna and flora so particular to this region. You will be amazed by the beauty and the authenticity of the landscapes as well as the stories and legends of the islands of Sorel.
