Kuei Kuei
Come to La Maison amérindienne in Mont-Saint-Hilaire and, to the sound of drums and chants, discover ancient seasonal traditions related to maple sugar, corn and squash. La Maison amérindienne, in a charming setting at the foot of Mount Saint-Hilaire (classified as a UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve), is a place where people can exchange ideas, share and come together through various activities.
IN ADDITION TO EXHIBITIONS
Throughout the year, La Maison amérindienne offers activities to complement its permanent exhibitions and its temporary exhibitions of Amerindian art:
• museum activities: talks, workshops and story-telling (packages for group visits available by reservation)
•
environmental and agricultural activities: the presentation of Amerindian maple traditions, with the country’s only urban maple grove, interpretation trails, the cultivation of corn, beans and squash (known as the Iroquoian Three Sisters) and an edible wild berry garden.
•
gastronomic activities: discovering the contribution of Amerindian food to international cuisines (Amerindian-inspired food tastings by reservation).
You can complete your visit with a walk in the maple-grove trails or drop into our Amerindian handicraft boutique to choose an authentic souvenir.
