Principal theme: HISTORY

The Maison LePailleur is a house whose architecture and past embodies the history of Châteauguay. Under the auspices of the Société du Musée du Grand Châteauguay, the Maison LePailleur gives visitors an idea of what daily life was like for the men and women who inhabited the region in the time of Lower Canada. Programming is based on a main exhibition and shorter-term temporary exhibitions.
IN ADDITION TO EXHIBITIONS
In summer, the museum organizes open-air guided tours – a walking tour in the heart of old Châteauguay and a historic bicycle tour. Each year, visitors are invited to celebrate National Patriots’ Day, Saint-Jean-Baptiste Day and the Quinzaine Littér'art. As well, numerous activities, including talks, are presented on a regular basis throughout the year to complement exhibitions.
