Principal theme: HISTORY

Pointe-du-Buisson is a natural harbour on the banks of the St. Lawrence. As an ideal spot for fishing and making portages, it was much used by the Amerindian populations who have been living in this area over the past 5000 years. Today, this archaeological complex, recognized as a site of national significance, introduces visitors to the mysteries of the past through exhibitions, theme days and numerous activities.
The Quebec Museum of Archaeology is located 35 km west of Montréal and can be reached by taking Highway 132. It is also possible to travel by Voyageur bus from the Angrignon Métro station.
IN ADDITION TO EXHIBITIONS
Explore a maple-hickory grove and the archaeological site on a 2.5-km interpretation trail.
Take the opportunity to discover thousands of artifacts testifying to the lifeways of the populations that have frequented Pointe-du-Buisson over a period of 5000 years. In our natural laboratory, visitors experience what it is like to reconstruct the past through a scientific approach to archaeology.
Take part in our many cultural activities and special packages. Use our attractive facilities to organize an event (reunions, cocktails, annual meetings, workshops, family picnics, etc.).
Discover our gift shop, with its choice of original, distinctive work by regional craftspeople, as well as locally produced food goods. You’ll also find items related to the theme of the archaeological complex.
