Elementary (Cycles 2 and 3) and Secondary
Électrium uses a dynamic approach to give youngsters a better understanding of electricity. Students can observe the presence of electricity in nature, discover the origin of lightning and the secrets of the electric eel, investigate the laws of physics and learn more about electric and magnetic fields. Électrium also features an interactive module, unlike any other in Québec, that explores the vital role of electricity in the human body; a film tracing key points in the development of hydroelectricity, from the Manic dam to the present; and a film showing how electricity goes from a generating station to homes.
At Électrium, school groups enjoy guided tours designed to meet the requirements of the Québec Education Program. The tours are intended for Elementary Cycles 2 and 3 and for the Secondary level. Groups in Elementary Cycles 2 and 3, as well as those in Secondary 4, are given pedagogical kits that include a teacher’s guide and tools to help prepare and follow-up the visit.
