Mounting Gard at Fort Lennox
Thanks to its multisensory character, this museum visit initiation combines fun and education. Accompanied by an interpretive guide, students explore the fortification and discover its history through games, which introduces them to the concept of time.
Elementary, Cycles 1 and 2
Garrison Life at Fort Lennox
Accompanied by a heritage interpreter, students explore the fort's main buildings and learn the history of the site. In addition to getting to know various characters, students learn more about military ranks, the differences between the past and the present, the living conditions for a family in the fort and the occupation of the territory around 1830.
Secondary
Fort Lennox: Defender of the British Empire
A guided tour of the fort's main buildings allows students to discover how a 19th century British fortification was organized. The guided tour is preceded by a story of the events that shaped the history of Île aux Noix and Fort Lennox. Students learn about military discipline, various social classes and the roles of soldiers and their families within the fortified boundaries around 1830. It's a great way to participate in a historical experience!
All activities are designed according to the Quebec Education Program. Other activities are available in addition to guided tours.
