Saint-Denis rally
This activity lets students take part in a history and heritage rally in Saint-Denis-sur-Richelieu. With maps in hand and accompanied by an interpreter-guide, they explore the town’s streets looking for clues that will enable them to uncover the secret of Saint-Denis. At the end of the activity, the answers to the quiz are corrected and a team wins a participation prize.

Elementary, Cycle 3
The Frères Chasseurs – educational program including in-class activities, a museum outing and after-visit activities
The Frères Chasseurs was a secret society formed in 1838 by Patriotes living in exile in the United States. Students have to succeed in a secret historic mission, like those the Frères Chasseurs went on, by taking part in a series of educational activities inspired by the historic period of the Patriote movement in Lower Canada. Students form teams that set off in search of vital information.

Art in the time of the Patriotes
This workshop gives students a better understanding of lifestyles at the beginning of the 19th century. They are introduced to the work of the great Canadian painter, Cornelius Krieghoff, and get acquainted with watercolour techniques.

Secondary, College and University
Guided tour of the Maison nationale des Patriotes
An interactive tour of the house once belonging to Jean-Baptiste Mâsse and today known as the Maison nationale des Patriotes lets students relive the tumultuous history of the Patriotes in the 1837-1838 period. Participants feel as if they have stepped into the past. The tour can be adapted to suit the age and interests of the group.

Cost: $3.50 per student, free for accompanying teachers
