Art and discovery
Lively, very lively, guided tours!
Art and discovery invites preschool and school groups to explore the various facets of current art. Our educational program offers guided tours that are renewed with each exhibition and centre around four objectives: observation, description, analysis and making a critical judgment. The tour may include a creative workshop.
These tours are adapted to the age, education level and number of participants and are thus suitable for preschool children as well as for students in elementary and secondary schools and colleges.
Preschool and Elementary
At this level, it is best to take a playful approach that appeals to the imagination. Following a short presentation on the artists and the works displayed, children take part in exploration activities such as observation games and role-playing.
Secondary and College
At this level, an interactive mode is called for to develop students’ ability to appreciate works of art rather than imposing preconceived ideas on them. Following a presentation on the artists’ approach and on concepts offering insights into their production, students take part in simulation exercises and discussions that let them critique works of art.
In-class workshop
Plein sud also comes to schools to introduce students to current art or to guide them in discovering and studying the approach taken by a given artist in the world of current art. The activity, which is adapted to the students’ age group, includes a creative workshop.
